Reverend Ndabaningi Chandiwana Sithole finally declared national liberation hero 23 years after his death

June 10, 2023 – will remain a very sentimental day for the #NdabaningiSithole family, the people of Chipinge, and Zimbabwe’s liberation stalwarts as the founding president of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) which upon uniting with PF-ZAPU became modern day ZANU PF was officially conferred with national hero status.

Defence and War Veterans Affairs minister Cde #OppahMuchinguriKashiri conferred the hero status on behalf of the president Cde #EmmersonMnangagwa and said this was an important part of correcting the history of the liberation struggle.

Accepting the honour on behalf of the #NdabaningiSithole family, Dr Sifiso Sithole says this is an important event that will go a long way towards healing and peacebuilding in the country and what needs to be seen is how the Government will follow-up on community development.

In a message on the occasion, Ndabaningi Sithole Foundation chairperson Bishop Chad Gandiya says that Reverend Ndabaningi Sithole has been honoured, his contribution can now be edited back into history
